Optiplast Ltd. is a family company that has been processing polymer materials (PELD, PELLD and PEHD) for over 25 years, including the production of various foils and confectionery packaging. The company started as a DDO business, which was founded in 1989, and since 2006, Optiplast Ltd. has been independently acting as a legal entity. The annual processing capacity is about 3600 tons and the company operates in its own area of 7000m2 and has approximately fifty employees.

We monitor trends both on the local market and EU markets and accordingly invest in new technologies. Over the last three years, we have been in an investment period during where we are working on increasing the processing capacity, the quality of finished products and the optimization and acceleration of production processes. Therefore, in 2013, with co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund, we introduced a new polyethylene recycling line with a capacity of about 1700 tons per year. Existing extruders have been modernized in 2014 with the procurement of a gravimetric material dosing system, which was co-financed within the Entrepreneurial Impulse Measure B1. During the period 2015-2016, we acquired and installed a new foil extraction extruder and a multipurpose machine for the production of garbage bags through the Operational Program of Regional Support for Capital Investments in order to keep and increase the number of employees, issued by the Ministry of Economy.

The construction of a new production hall is planned along with the purchase of several new machines with the goal of reaching a processing capacity of 5000 tons per year in the coming period until 2018. A part of the capacity will be related to the production of biodegradable bags.

Particular attention is also paid to product quality, continuous professional training of the employees and environmental care. For this reason, during 2017, we will implement a new ERP system and control elements that will more closely monitor production and control costs.

In order to better prepare for the entry and the EU market, in 2013 we introduced the ISO 9 001 Quality Management System and the International Environmental Standard ISO 14 0001.
