Ecology
Ever since its beginning, Optiplast has taken account of its contribution to environmental protection. The greatest advantage of polyethylene is its ability to be re-used, which contributes significantly to the protection and conservation of the environment.
We have a modern recycling line with an annual capacity of 1,700 tons. The production process creates a technological surplus that is recycled by our recycling process at our facility and is then converted into another suitable product, most commonly garbage bags. In this way, we get a new finished product without damaging the environment and while contributing to environmental protection.
Polyethylene formed by carbon and hydrogen is not harmful to the environment, it does not pollute water or air, and polyethylene products can be recycled and used as such in other plastic products. Basic chemical compounds of CO2 and H2O are formed with the full combustion of polyethylene.
Although paper bags are biodegradable and carry the mark of an ecological product, more energy and water is consumed in the production and recycling of paper than in the production and recycling of polyethylene. Simply put, polyethylene bags are a very energy-efficient product that can be used multiple times and easily recycled.
Polyethylene for now simply has no alternative as a packaging material, whether used alone or in combination with other materials. With polyethylene bags, the culture of the user of the bag is also very important. It is very important not to throw waste into the environment, including bags, especially if it can be recycled. Any waste product that is not adequately disposed pollutes the environment.
More recently, various forms of additives have been emerging, making it possible to accelerate degradability and in this way, polyethylene gets the status of biodegradability. There are also new materials that are biodegradable and are produced on a plant basis. What is important to emphasize is that the existing technology and machines used to produce polyethylene products, with little or no change, can also produce products from biodegradable new materials.
